Michelangelo has made it to the city of the Alamo!
You don’t have to take a 14-hour flight to experience one of the single greatest works of art in the world. This August, the Lambermont Estate, a luxurious San Antonio castle, is showcasing the mesmerizing Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition benefitting Military Support Wednesday.
Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition will take place on August 11 at Lambermont Estate, a 127-year-old, 12,000-square-foot castle and mansion located at 950 E Grayson St.
Through this gorgeous historical jewel, you can engage in the legendary painter’s masterful pieces in ways that were never before possible: seeing every detail, every brushstroke, and every color of the artist’s 34 frescoes.
Each image is accompanied by informative signage, and audio guides are available to rent for an even more in-depth experience. Those who have already visited the Sistine Chapel will find a new way of observing the art and who have never seen the originals will be intrigued and inspired to visit the Sistine Chapel at some time in the future.
Proceeds from the exhibition will benefit SERVED, a veteran-driven organization that provides personal chef services and catering to benefit the Fisher House, as well as providing unhoused veterans with the simple, yet profound service of showers.
“We created it as a way to bring dignity, humanity, and inspiration back to those who need it most,” said Chef James Lane.
Tickets to this extraordinary exhibition and benefit are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children 6 – 18. There’s no charge for children under the age of 6.
The exhibition also includes a tour of the centuries-old St. Paul’s Episcopal Church adjacent to the castle.
