Ready for liftoff?
From its stellar observatory, intergalactic exhibits and stunning sunsets, Houston definitely lives up to its name. Space City propels us into orbit this spring with Space Explorers: THE INFINITE, the groundbreaking immersive exhibition inspired by NASA missions.
Experience daily life in space as one of the few astronauts living on the International Space Station and witness breathtaking views of our blue planet from above during the first-ever spacewalk captured in cinematic 3D 360 virtual reality.
Created by Felix & Paul Studios, PHI Studio, and in association with Time Studios, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE has already transfixed Houston visitors in 2022. Since then, the journey has been remodeled and improved, transporting us even further in space.
The new, 12,500-square-foot adventure is divided into 5 chapters in a life-size virtual recreation of the International Space Station — including footage and video logs captured by actual astronauts, and an art installation by famed Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda, ‘The Universe within the Universe,’ that evokes the weightlessness of the pitch-black vacuum of space.
The interactive art mimics the journey of falling into a wormhole with its LED ceiling and mirrored floors.
Throughout Space Explorers: THE INFINITE, you’ll feel as though you’re actually in space throughout a free-roaming VR journey that presents jaw-dropping views of Earth and majestic sunrises. The whole journey is so realistic and vivid!
As you’re transported 250 miles above Earth, your connection to the universe grows tenfold. Encounters with astronauts, mesmerizing moments of Earth-gazing… every sensation transforms the way you view the universe and your place in it. Past visitors have expressed feeling emotional, moved by the Emmy Award-winning film footage of Space Explorers: THE INFINITE.
The hour-long experience will open at Sawyer Yards on May 3, and tickets will be available on April 11. Until then, join the waitlist to secure your spot for the exciting blast-off.
